The Endless “Sertão” book

Production of a book with 90 images, in black and white, showing in an innovative way the expression of the people who live in these lands. Araquém Alcântara, crossed these rustic roads, between the north of Minas and Piauí, and transformed the region's aridity and poverty into surprising images. "In the book is the hinterland of hard earth, ocher, wild, bathed by scorching sun, dusty roads, slabs and calcined stones ... Poverty, hunger, drought, fatigue, love and blood, possession of lands, fights for goats and sheep, life and death, everything that is elemental in man is present in this lost land", commented the photographer.
